QUAD Derby

QUAD is a new purpose-built, landmark building. It is Derby's first new major public building of the 21st century and has been designed by award winning architects Fielden Clegg Bradley

The ground work began at the end of 2006 and the building is due to be completed in Summer 2008.

March 2008 - The majority of the heavy construction work is now completed. On the outside walls the fixings for the Derbyshire gritstone cladding are being installed. Work will soon begin on the internal fit-out.

April 2008 - The external stone cladding work is continuing, with the first stones being installed. Internal fixtures and fittings work will begin including the cinema and projection room fit-out.

May 2008 - It is now possible to envisage what the finished building will look like, as the stone cladding is covering a large part of the building. Inside the site is very busy, with plumbing and electrical installation, floors being laid and walls painted.
