KATAPULT Digital Studio

Supported by Katapult

A creative technology room accommodating high spec Mac Pro computers (running Adobe Production Suite and Final Cut Studio 2). This is used for digital workshops, artistic creation and short courses. Computers can also be used for on-line viewing of exhibitions and interactive media activities.

The Box

This is the space that sits above the entrance hall. The glass that forms the external walls has been designed by international glass artist Alexander Beleshenko. The glass design expresses the creative energy and buzz of the activity inside QUAD. The Box is a multi-purpose flexible space and is an important symbol of QUAD being more than the sum of its parts. This is where the various programme strands cross over and go beyond art and film and into territory that blurs the boundaries between visual arts and cinema and explores new ground.

The Box has 40 removable seats. These can be used to create an intimate viewing lounge, classroom or club-style atmosphere. They can also be cleared away to leave an empty studio or exhibition space. This space along with the other spaces throughout the building is available for private and corporate hire.
