Action on Stigma

A series of events are taking place  in Derby to highlight and help tackle the stigma often associated with mental health problems.

Derbyshire Mental Health Services NHS Trust has joined forces with Derby City Primary Care Trust, Derby City Council and QUAD to organise the events in the city.

The first session took place last weekend, which was a drop in session of creative arts and poetry in Pear Tree Library. The next two events take place in June:

Women of The World - Saturday 21st June 2pm - 5pm at Normanton Park Community Centre, Warwick Avenue. An afternoon of arts workshops, performances and children's activities exploring our diversity and friendship as women. Please come along and join in, there will be various performances and activities to take part in (females and boys under 7 years old only).

One World Family Party - Sunday 22nd June 2pm - 6pm at The Spot, Sacheveral Street. Celebrating the end of Refugee Week this event will bring together dance music, food, arts and fashion from around the world. Please come along and join in, there will be various performances and activities to take part in.
