QUAD Derby

Despite the dismal weather on Saturday a crowd gathered on the Market Place in Derby to celebrate the completion of the Derby Well Dressing. This annual event, organised by QUAD, was hosted by Simon Groom and attended by the Mayor of Derby, Cllr Barbara Jackson.

The crowd was treated to a performance from The Ram Company of traditional folk songs including 'The Derby Ram' which was the theme for this year's event.

Well Dressing is a Derbyshire tradition of decorating wells and springs with flowers and other material pressed into clay frames to celebrate and be thankful for water... so perhaps the rain was very appropriate afterall!
