QUAD Derby

Aspiring filmmakers once again have a chance to see their ideas up on the Silver Screen as QUAD announces the launch of QUAD Shorts 2.

QUAD Shorts commission will fund up to five pieces of film or moving image by artists and film makers from Derby, Derbyshire and the East Midlands. Proposals are open for films three to five minutes in length with the theme of 'Heroes', inspired by 2012 Olympics.

Each selected commission will receive a maximum production budget of up to £5000 and the completed films will be shown in QUAD as part of 'ID Fest' film festival in May 2012. As part of the commisssion, successful applicants will also recieve support for Script Development, Project Mentoring and a professional Producer for each film.

QUAD Shorts was initially set up in August 2009 and the winners were: A Shining Light by Luke Smith, Good Men Of Leicester by Al MacKay & Neale Craston, The Cake by Esther Richardson, Heartland Archive by Liam Sharp & Joe Barcham and This Side Of The After Life by Adam & Joe Horton.
