QUAD goes to the dark side during October with a film season of scares, 'Things That Go Bump In The Night' -  including three new releases and QUAD's annual Halloween quintuple of films, 'Dead And Breakfast'; plus 'Sinful Shakespeare' event and Pumpkin Carving workshops.

In the first of the Things That Go Bump In TheNight film season, Kill List, an ex-soldier turned contract killer Jay is pressured by his partner Gal into taking a new assignment - eight months after a disastrous job in Kiev left him physically and mentally scarred. As they descend into the dark, disturbing world of the contract, Jay begins to unravel once again - his fear and paranoia sending him deep into the heart of darkness. Kill List (18) screens from Friday 7th until Sunday 9th October, the screening on Friday 7th October at 8:55pm will be introduced by Fright Club historian Darrell Buxton.

In Troll Hunter Thomas and his friends are investigating unlawful bear shootings in the cold backwoods of Norway. They run into Hans, someone who they decide to follow because they think he is bear hunter. But Hans is not hunting bears............ Troll Hunter (15 subtitled) screens from Saturday 15th until Monday 17th October, the screening on Saturday 15th October at 8:30pm will be introduced by Fright Club historian Darrell Buxton.

In Don't Be Afraid Of The Dark young Sally is about to move into a new Rhode Island house with her divorced father Alex (Guy Pearce) and his new girlfriend Kim (Katie Holmes). The house is big, shadows lurk around every corner and something horrible is hiding in the darkness. Atmospherically shot by short film director Troy Nixey, this is the creepy scarefest of the season. Don't Be Afraid Of The Dark (15) screens from Friday 28th October until Thursday 3rd November, the screening on Monday 31st October at 8:30pm will be an introduction by Fright Club historian Darrell Buxton.

Dead And Breakfast is QUAD's unique, annual dusk 'til dawn movie marathon, comprised of back to back screenings of scary movies, followed by a bacon buttie in QUAD Café in the morning to steady the nerves. Dead And Breakfastreturns for a third successive year with five films to fill you with fear throughout the night, including:The Evil Dead (18), Tenebrae (18), House (Hausu) (15), Tucker & Dale vs Evil (15) and From Dusk Till Dawn (18). Dead And Breakfast III: Night Terrors! (18) takes place on Saturday 29th October from 10:30pm until 7:30am on Sunday 30th October. Tickets include the five film screenings and breakfast in the QUAD Café bar the following morning: £22 and £20 Concessions.

Shakespeare's most sinful and scandelous scenes will be coming to QUAD on Halloween. Sinful ShaXXXpeare, presented by 1623 theatre company, 'is a salacious journey through the seven deadly sins in Shakespeare's plays. From lust in A Midsummer Night's Dream to gluttony in Titus Andronicus, you will see Shakespeare in a whole new light! Suitable for those aged 15 and above, Sinful ShaXXXpeare takes place on Monday 31st October, 7:30pm - 8:30pm. Tickets are £8.00 and £6.00 concessions.

For young people, there is a chance to create your own spooky decoration this Halloween by coming along to a pumpkin carving workshops. Learn how to make a scary design and then bring it to life by carving it onto a pumpkin that you can than take home with you to terrify the neighbours. Your creation will also be entered into a Pumpkin Carving competition for a chance to win great QUAD prizes! Design your own scary pumpkin, and have it carved out (by accompanying adult) at QUAD's Pumpkin Carving workshops on Saturday 29th October from 10:30am until 12:30pm or from 1:30pm until 3:30pm. Suitable for age three and above, all participants must be accompanied by an adult. The cost is £5.00 per child which includes your pumpkin
