Festé Trigger
Artists: Addictive TV, Subism, Charity Shop DJ plus special guests
Venue: QUAD
Date: Saturday 27th September 2008
A night of audiovisual experiments and fun in the brand new QUAD building.
Addictive TV remixed well known films such as Laurel and Hardy, Snakes on a Plane, Get Carter and more for a special hour long show in the cinema. Their unique style of remixing film to create music from the original dialogue and scores mixed with the reworking of the films has won them the title of WORLD no1 VJs three times in a row. Not only audio and visually entertaining, but also full of humour and inventive music making with great film as an instrument – a performance not to be missed!
"Just as a music producer samples a film-voice sample, we do the same but take the picture with it. We work with DVD turntables and, like vinyl, where you can beat match and scratch, we use audio and video at the same time." See www.addictive.tv
Charity Shop DJ played the best of the vernacular vinyl records collected from Derby’s charity shops featuring a number of remixes of "charity shop classics". With visuals from the world record holders project. See www.charityshopdj.com
Subism is an artists’ collective based in Derby with members from all over the country. Artists drew throughout the event as a live performance as well as audience participation. With projected visuals from Subism artists and Subism DJs all night. www.subism.co.uk
Special guests: live music interventions, guest visuals projected in the Box and on digital screens and a range of great DJs featuring Hemulen Sound System.
