During the annual Derby Traditional Music and Arts Festival, QUAD opened its doors to a variety of weird and wonderful traditional craft arts, well dressing, dance and music live in QUAD. Most events were free to take part in or watch.

The events included:

Morris Dancing Daleks, Storytelling for Beginners Workshop, Restless Soles Appalachian Clog Performance & Workshop, Contemporary Wire & Bead Crochet with The Beetroot Tree Gallery Workshop, ‘Dreamcatchers, Mexican Weaving ,Delicate Dragonflies’ Workshop, Ceramic Bell Making Workshop, Music Performance from Cupola, Well Dressing in a Day! Workshop, Doc Rowe Shares His Film Archive, Lipan Mural Workshop, Keith Kendrick & Sylvia Needham, and much more! 

Throughout of the weekend there was also a free screening of the short film ‘The Gainsborough Packet' by Matt Stokes ‘The Gainsborough Packet’ (pictured) was the culmination of detailed research and development, based on a letter written in 1828 by an ordinary man named John Burdikin.

Tracing the adventures of Burdikin’s life, the letter was the inspiration for a music and film installation. Music collaborators on the project include Jon Boden, Alistair Anderson, Sam Lee and Tim Kerr.
