HMD 2010 - East Midlands Regional Event
Derby is proud to have been asked by the Holocaust Memorial Day Trust to stage the East Midlands regional event for HMD 2010. The theme ‘Legacy of Hope’ invited us to look back on the 65th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz and Birkenau and the horrors that were revealed, but also to look forward with hope, to ensure that it can never happen again.
The most eloquent of Auschwitz survivors, Dr Kitty Hart-Moxon OBE, was the keynote speaker at this event with an illustrated talk that included excerpts from her film Return To Auschwitz followed by an audience Q&A session.
