Derby's festival for alternative fiction is a one-day event focusing on the genres of science-fiction, fantasy and horror, featuring some of the top authors in the field.

There were a number of publishers in attendance, including Angry Robot Books, Gollancz, Solaris, Abaddon and BBC Books, while genre agents John Berlyne and John Jarrold also shared their considerable experience.

Events during the day included workshops, Q&A sessions and panel discussions, a book fair, auction and readings by top authors from the field of sci-fi, horror and fantasy.

There was also a special late night horror screening introduced by the world's leading Horror anthologist Stephen Jones.

Author Ramsay Campbell hosted the Alt.Fiction auction, selling some special lots from Alt.Fiction authors.
