The Flowers Of War is the first film by director Yimou Zhang to arrive on UK shores since 2006’s Curse Of The Golden Flower. Here the director of House Of Flying Daggers enlists Christian Bale to bring his tale of the Rape Of Nanking to life. Bale plays a westerner who finds refuge in a church with a group of women. Posing as a priest, he attempts to lead the women to safety.
