Lawless is the true story of the infamous Bondurant Brothers: bootlegging siblings who took a shot at the American Dream in Prohibition era Virginia. The three brothers, Tom Hardy, Shia LaBeouf and Jason Clarke (Public Enemies), protect their moonshine operation against the puritanical fury of Special Deputy Rakes (Guy Pearce) and Gary Oldman’s gangster Floyd Banner. The star studded cast also includes current go-to-girl Jessica Chastain (Tree Of Life) and Mia Wasikowska (The Kids Are Alright) while director Hillcoat is reunited with his regular collaborator Nick Cave, who supplies the screenplay and the score.
