Training Programme for Artists 2009


QUAD is looking for 8 artists with an interest in digital media who wish to develop their skills in this area to join our training programme commencing on July 7th 2009 at 6.30pm

After completing the programme, artists will be eligible to be paid assistants at workshops, culminating in becoming workshop leaders.

This is an excellent opportunity for artists to gain new skills and experience and ultimately become workshop leaders.

What does the programme involve?

Trainees will attend 6 formal training sessions. Trainees will shadow artists in workshops on a minimum of 2 occasions to gain experience.
Trainees will volunteer as assistant to a workshop leader on 4 occasions
Trainees will design, coordinate and deliver 2 Family Activities at QUAD. This will be on a voluntary basis with support from the Artist Training Coordinator.
Trainees can then progress to being paid assistants at workshops culminating in becoming workshop leaders.


What are the benefits of the programme?

Trainee artists are introduced to working with the Participation team at QUAD, learning and sharing new skills and innovative ideas.

Artists will receive training relevant to working with QUAD’s current and forthcoming programme

Opportunity to shadow experienced artists as volunteers.

Networking opportunities.

Trainees will have the opportunity to develop their art form and try new art forms to use in workshops.

Trainees will gain valuable experience volunteering as an assistant to a workshop leader on 4 occasions

Trainees will have the opportunity to design, coordinate and deliver 2 family activities at QUAD. This will be on a voluntary basis.

One to one support from the Artist Training Coordinator will be available.

 

Cost:

Artists on the training programme will incur the cost of an enhanced CRB and £5million Public Liability Insurance.  There are no other costs.
