Joseph Wright
Joseph Wright was born on Irongate in Derby. He painted portraits, landscapes and interiors and was probably the most perceptive painter of industrial and scientific subjects in the 18th century. One of his most famous paintings 'A Philosopher Lecturing on the Orrery' (1764 - 1766) is housed at Derby Museum and Art Gallery. Joseph was created with help from QUAD Youth Forum.
