QUAD Derby

Q Club is an out of school arts activity club for 10 young people aged 8 to 13 years from the Derby City area. 50% of the places are aimed at children on the autistic spectrum.

The emphasis is on making fabulous artwork within a safe, friendly environment and enable young people who may be at risk of social exclusion to create art.

Previous projects have included animations, computer games, giant puppet making, den building, giant board games... and much more.

Q Club has been running since 2002 and runs for 18 sessions a year.

Here's what some of the participants have said:

"My favourite project is... it's hard to choose. I like everything, I like coming to Q Club!"

"I would like to make my own film. Launch my own radio station. And finally be a teacher."

"Coming to Q Club actually makes me feel happy, I've got friends here, and I like everything really."
