QUAD Youth Forum

QUAD's Youth Forum (previously known as the Young People's Panel) involves a group of 14 - 19 year olds, who were recruited from around Derby and the surrounding area to help contribute to the development of QUAD in it's exciting opening year. The group meet monthly to discuss aspects of QUAD, work on their own art work and act as a sounding board for the rest of the organisation.
Michael Harris, a member of the group, explains his involvement further...
"The Young People's Panel was an exciting initiative that I grabbed the opportunity to take part in. The idea behind it is that young people from in and around Derby help contribute towards the development of QUAD, as well as other exciting art work that is continuous throughout our meetings. Being part of this panel offers me the opportunity to meet new people who share similar views on wanting to develop art, but each have their own distinct style of art as well as their own opinions. It also offers the opportunity to get feedback on some of my own art work, as well as a positive feeling that I have contributed towards something within the local community.
To have the ability to share my knowledge of different artists and techniques as an older member of the group, is also something that appealed to me as I enjoy being able help develop younger people's talent with different media. It is a worthwhile experience and I hope that other people get similar opportunities with the ever-developing QUAD team and site."
