China Day One

Beijing Airport

A delegation from QUAD are travelling to the Chinese region of Chongqing with the aim of opening up new links, which
will lead to cultural exchanges between QUAD and the region.

QUAD's Director Keith Jeffrey was part of an Arts Council East Midlands delegation that visited the region in 2007 and this return visit is following on from meetings with key regional artists and organisations.

While there, the QUAD delegation will meet with Chinese artists, organisations and individuals to discuss possible collaborative activities and ongoing partnerships.

While in China, the group will be keeping in touch with us by sending images and updates from a mobile phone.

Day One

'Nihao' (Hello) from a foggy Beijing airport (see picture). We're waiting to transfer to Chongqing and we're all tired.

Not much to report yet... the Olympic flame came to Heathrow as we left for China, there was a Jackie Chan film on the plane and Jan had an apple planted on her by customs - the search dog was rewarded with a bouncy ball.

'Tsei Tien' (Goodbye)
