November is a month of...

...Fantastical Histories
As winter descends we thought it was a good idea to bring some fantastic stories, cinematic treats and magical occurrences to brighten up the dark nights in November.
Cinema highlights this month include the stunning Oscar-tipped film Bright Star, which looks at the short and passionate relationship between the poet John Keats and his muse Fanny Brawne, and the much loved Roald Dahl story Fantastic Mr Fox (pictured) brought to life by the irreverent director Wes Anderson.
Alongside a vibrant programme of film there is an equally exciting exhibitions programme:
Magic Show opens at the end of the month in the Gallery, the premiere of a new Hayward Touring exhibition curated by Jonathan Allen and Sally O’Reilly, organized in collaboration with QUAD. The show will feature a fantastic selection of artworks inspired by or containing magical elements that each investigate a different idea around illusion, deception and fantasy.
In addition there will be an amazing selection of archive magic posters exhibited around QUAD featuring the most famous names in magic, selected by collector, magician and Hollywood magic advisor Paul Kieve (fans of Harry Potter should look out for an event with Paul in December as he is the magic advisor for the Harry Potter films and has personally taught Daniel Radcliffe a number of magic tricks!).
