Samson and Delilah is a rare and very touching film that pulls no punches. A film that features very little dialogue but still manages to convey a huge range of emotion, Samson and Delilah gives us an insight into the largely hidden world of modern day Aboriginal life in Australia.
The film centres around the title protagonists and give us a view of a world that gets little media coverage outside of Australia. Their relationship is played out against a backdrop of hardship and exclusion that is made even starker when the couple move to the city.
The Daily Telegraph gave the film five stars and said:
“...it will leave hearts bruised, but aching with joy.”
...I couldn’t agree more.
