QUAD confirms new Literature Officer Role

02 December 2016
Over the last eight years, QUAD has developed a great reputation as an organisation that supports a huge array of artforms and has developed a great reputation for supporting writing and reading events. QUAD has cemented its place as a venue for writing courses, annual events including Edge-Lit, Sledge-Lit and Derby Writers Day, as well as being a key partner in Derby Book Festival.

We are now delighted to confirm the appointment of a new Literature Officer Alex Davis to continue the recent work at the venue, as well as looking to expand and explore new areas of fiction and non-fiction. Alex has worked with the venue as a freelancer over the last seven years and brings a wealth of experience as a literature professional to the role.

The position will include the regular running of popular events such as Edge-Lit, focusing on science-fiction, fantasy and horror writing; and Derby Writers Day, offering a range of key advice and information to writers. Alex is also very keen to hear from groups and organisations in and around Derby who may be looking to collaborate or work with the venue in future.

Alex said: “The new role is a hugely exciting progression for the writing and reading work at QUAD, and offers a huge range of possibilities for new activities and events at the venue. It’s a great show of commitment from QUAD, and shows just how much they value the programme for local writers and readers.”  To get in touch with any ideas, questions or thoughts, feel free to email at alexd@derbyquad.co.uk
