QUAD’s ‘Cine Kids’ Family Friendly films for the Summer holidays

QUAD has announced its line-up of ‘Cine Kids’ Family Friendly films for the Summer holidays. ‘Cine Kids’ are screenings for families with children of all ages, taking place daily on weekends and school holidays with all tickets £3.50 for Cine Kids Club members. 

Despicable Me 3 (U)



Despicable Me 3 is the third instalment in which Gru, Lucy, the girls and the minions are back. They go up against the ‘80s-inspired villain Balthazar Bratt, meanwhile Gru discovers his long-lost twin brother Dru! Despicable Me 3 (U) screens at QUAD from Friday 28th July to Thursday 10th August.

The Boy And The Beast (12A)



The Boy And The Beast is the story of Kyuta, a young orphan living on the streets, stumbles upon a fantastic world of beasts, and is taken in by a gruff warrior beast looking for an apprentice. This Japanese animated fantasy film comes from Mamoru Hosoda, the talented director of Wolf Children, and was a huge hit at the Japanese box office, winning Animation of the Year at the 37th Japan Academy Prizes. The Boy And The Beast (12A) (Japanese language audio with English subtitles) screens at QUAD from Saturday 29th July to Thursday 3rd August.

Cars 3 (U)

Cars 3 is a chance to buckle up for a high-speed, all-action return to the world animated vehicles like you’ve never seen before! In this fast-paced adventure new high-tech, next-gen racer Jackson Storm hits the Piston Cup, pushing the legendary Lightning McQueen to the back of the pack. Cars 3 (U) screens at QUAD from Friday 4th August to Thursday 17th August.

Spider-Man: Homecoming (12A)



Spider-Man: Homecoming is the latest instalment after Spider-Man returned to the Marvel Comics fold in last year’s Captain America: Civil War. Here he’s back in his Aunt’s house in Brooklyn under the eyes of his new mentor Tony Stark. When the Vulture emerges as a new villain, everything Peter holds dear will be threatened! Spider-Man: Homecoming (12A) screens at QUAD from Friday 11th to Thursday 17th August.

Valerian And The City Of A Thousand Planets (12A)



Valerian And The City Of A Thousand Planets is the latest film from Luc Besson (The Fifth Element) is based on the long running graphic novel series. Two special operatives Valerian (Dane DeHaan) and Laureline (Cara Delevingne) embark on a mission to Alpha – an ever=expanding metropolis comprising of thousands of species. But there is a mystery at the heart of Alpha, a dark force that threatens the peaceful lives of the City Of A Thousand Planets. Valerian and Laureline must stop this menace to save not only Alpha but the future of the universe. Valerian And The City Of A Thousand Planets (12A) screens at QUAD from Friday 18th to Thursday 24th August.

Monster Island (PG)

Monster Island is a fun Monster animation from Mexico. Lucas suffers from asthma and his father won’t let him go anywhere without his inhaler for fear of an asthma attack. But this is just a lie. The truth is Lucas is descended from a long line of monsters and the inhaler stops, not a shortness of breath, but a monstrous transformation. Monster Island (PG) screens at QUAD from Friday 18th to Thursday 24 August.

Return To Oz (PG)



In Return To Oz, from 1985, a storm has propelled Dorothy Gale back to Oz, but things aren’t as she left them. The yellow brick road is all broken, and her old friends the Cowardly Lion and the Tin Man have been turned to stone. Now, Dorothy and her new friends Jack Pumpkinhead, Gump and the clockwork robot TikTok set out to save the Emerald City from the fiendish Nome King. Return To Oz (PG) screens at QUAD on Saturday 26th and Sunday 27th August.

The Black Hole (PG)

The Black Hole is set deep in space, where a research craft encounters a near-deserted spaceship perched on the edge of a black hole. On board the ship is a long-lost scientist who has a desire to see what lies on the other side of the black hole – and will stop at nothing to achieve his goal. An underrated Disney classic, The Black Hole (PG) screens at QUAD on Saturday 9th and Sunday 10th September
