Derby Book Festival - Opening Event with Sebastian Faulks
at Derby Cathedral 7.30 - 9.00pm
The Derby Book Festival Opening Event will feature internationally renowned author Sebastian Faulks, whose latest book, Where My Heart Used to Beat, returns to what has become a recurring theme in his novels: war and love. It is a tender portrait of a man and a century. Probably his best-loved novel, Birdsong, vividly depicted a British soldier’s experience on the frontline during the First World War.
Sebastian will be in conversation with James Naughtie, BBC News' Books Editor & Special Correspondent and former presenter of Radio 4’s Today programme, who returns to the Festival for the third time.
After the event, follow the Fire Trail to The Silk Mill to view the Tower of London Poppies: Weeping Window exhibition.
