QUAD will be hosting The Japan Foundation Touring Film Programme 2017, between the 10th and 12th of February, which presents screenings of nine fantastic Japanese films, none of which have been shown in the UK previously.
One of the tour's tour sponsors, the Kyoto Convention And Visitors Bureau, will be holding a prize draw to win a trip for two to Kyoto, Japan. The winner shall be chosen randomly from those who see the film Lady Maiko (screening at QUAD on Sunday 12th at 2:00pm) during the Japan Foundation tour.
As this film is only receiving six screenings at various UK venues then there is a really good chance the winner could be a Derby attendee!
For full details on this prize draw please visit the Japan Foundation's website.
In addition to this, tour sponsor Sake Samurai, which works to protect sake and Japanese traditions at home as well as promoting them internationally, will be sending their representative, Rie Yoshitake, to QUAD to give a short talk on the history of the traditional Japanese rice wine which will also include a chance to taste a sample.
This free event will take place in QUAD's digital studio at 5:30pm on Friday 10th February. Spaces will be allocated on a first come first served basis.
