99th Garrison Shine a Light film shoot

10 December 2015
Yesterday saw production begin on Rhys Davies' film inspired by Shine A Light group The 99th Garrison. Shooting took place at the stepping stones in Dovedale with the lead characters before they join the rest of the garrison in the next couple of weeks. The 99th Garrison are a passionate group of people who, in their spare time, enjoy dressing up as Star Wars characters to raise money for charities all over the country.
The Shine A Light project, funded by the Esmée Fairbairn Foundation, has brought film makers and local interest groups for/and open to the over 60’s together to highlight the wealth of opportunities, new and old interests out there when you retire. The 99th Garrison, join a range of Derby groups including script writers, model train enthusiasts, tennis players, human rights campaigners and life grabbers who will have their short films screened at QUAD in February.
