Established theatre director Shannon Murphy makes her directorial film debut in this bittersweet comedy based on Rita Kalnejais’ play of the same name; about a young girl who falls for a small-town drug dealer. When seriously ill teenager Milla Finlay (Eliza Scanlen) falls in love with dealer Moses (Toby Wallace) it’s her parents' worst nightmare. But as Milla’s first brush with love brings her a new lust for life, things get messy and traditional attitudes go out of the window.
“A shattering, refreshing and achey coming-of-age film. **** 4 stars.” – Debbie Zhou, The Guardian
