GoldsQUAD is a relaxed, friendly group for anyone aged 50+ interested in creativity, learning new skills and trying new challenges in a supportive environment.

Sessions are held weekly and led by visiting artists and creative practitioners. 

Upcoming dates and activities - 

11th and 18th May

Join Karina, from Whittle & Weave (  for this willow weaving taster workshop. Working with willow grown sustainably in the UK, learn to create your own hand-woven birdfeeder. This is great introduction to basketry techniques including the three-rod-wale, pairing weave and a simple trac border. Participants will leave with their own willow birdfeeder, complete with fat balls.

Please note, as spaces for this workshop are limited to just 8, this workshop will be repeated across the two weeks - please book onto just ONE week only.

25th May, 1st, 8th and 15th June

Working with sculptor Simon Watson and drawing inspiration from Michelangelo's infamous sculpture David, participants will be introduced to sculpture techniques and supported to produce their own carved worked.

6th, 13th, 20th and 27th July

Join fine artist Liz Wellby ( for a stress free introduction to Digital Art, where you will be supported to create and learn how to incorporate digital techniques into your creative work. Living and working in Derbyshire is important to Liz, providing a significant visual response for her work. The themes of home, countryside and the domestic environment, can be seen in her digital drawings and paintings, print work and sculpture.

Places are limited, so booking is essential.
