Part of Studio Ghibli Forever Season

A season of classic animated tales by one of the greatest animation studios around. To coincide with the release of the latest Studio Ghibli title When Marnie Was There we are proud to present a selection of some of the best that the studio have made in their 30 year plus history. Family Friendly ‘Cine Kids’ screenings will be presented in the dubbed versions.

Miyazaki takes his love of aviation to the next level in this personal passion project that details the adventures of ‘Porco Rosso’, a veteran World War I pilot in 1930s Italy, who has been cursed to look like an anthropomorphic pig! He now makes a living flying contract jobs, such as rescuing those kidnapped by air pirates. His only human connection is with nightclub owner Gina, who knew him before the curse. When rival ace, Curtis arrives intent on making a name for himself at Porco’s expense, Porco has to stand up and be human again.

“Porco Rosso goes the whole hog, offering anti-war escapades that will appeal to all ages” – Anton Bitel, Eye For Film
