Intergenerational Digital Workshops

FREE drop in digital workshops for the over 50’s.

Find modern digital devices confusing? Received a digital device for Christmas and want to learn more about it? Have some general questions about the role of digital in society? QUAD welcomes those over 50 to join young people from Horizons 6th Form to learn and develop knowledge and skills in digital.

Gain insight into tablet and smart phone devices, websites, the internet and apps. Sessions are devised around specific subjects, but all questions and insights are welcome. Intergeneration Digital has been made possible through the Derby Cultural Education Partnership (DCEP).

The Intergenerational Digital sessions will take place in QUAD Digital Studio every Wednesday (excluding school holidays) beginning on 16th May between 1:15pm and 2:15pm. The workshops are free to attend.

16 May & 13 June - Tablet devices
23 May & 27 June - Websites and the Internet
6 June & 4 July - Apps

The sessions will be facilitated by young people from Horizons Sixth Form and Lees Brook Community School. The young people will take the lead in demonstrating and answering questions around different digital focus areas each week. Taking place in QUAD, the sessions are open to anyone aged fifty and above to join young people to learn and develop their digital knowledge and skills. The sessions are presented by Community Action Derby.

These workshops are an extension to GoldsQUAD, QUADs weekly creative wellbeing activities for the over 50’s. GoldsQUAD meet every Weds 11:30 – 13:15 and sessions are designed to improve happiness, be supportive, provide opportunity to learn new skills.
