Fantastic Fundraising by NCS Young People

09 August 2017

A group of young people have fundraised to show a deaf screening of Despicable Me 3 here at QUAD today (9th August 2017), raising over £500 through various initiatives in just over a week.

Team Unity took part in the National Citizen Service (NCS) programme, where they learned about local charities before choosing a charity to raise money for. As part of the programme they visited QUAD to learn about our participation and creative wellbeing activities before choosing to raise money for the local deaf community to see a special screening of the film.

The screening was fully booked, with multiple local charities benefiting from the activity. The team did so well that not only did they raise enough money to cover the costs of the screening, but they also made an additional donation to the Deaf Society.
