"Hirayanagi's idiosyncratic touch marks her as a talent worth tracking" - Variety

Setsuko is a depressed, socially isolated office worker, a tiny cog in Japan’s working culture. Into her life pops her young, energetic niece Mika, who persuades her to join an unusual English class led by John (Josh Hartnett). John’s strange and enticing teaching methods, which involve deeply immersive (and very funny) roleplay, soon take their toll on Setsuko. Wacky, adventurous and funny, the film was nominated for the Golden Camera award and the Critic’s Week Grand Prize at Cannes.
