The FIRST EVER screening of Monty Python's Life of Brian in an Anglican Cathedral!

Monty Python's Life of Brian is presented at Derby Cathedral as part of the QUAD in Residence at Derby Cathedral’ season – a programme of cinema classics, family favourites and seasonal specialities screening in the unique surroundings of the Cathedral nave.

Monty Python's satire is as funny today as it was in 1979. Brian is a Jew born in a stable in Bethlehem who spends most of his life being mistaken for the Messiah. But as we all know "He's Not The Messiah, He's A Very Naughty Boy!".

Arguably the best Python movie, the laughs come thick and fast with countless quotable one liners, routines and memorable characters. Fully endorsed by the People's Front Of Judea.

Monty Python's Life of Brian is screening as part of the BFI’s ‘Comedy Genius’ season. Before each film, Derby Cathedral will ‘lighten up’ with a spectacular projection mapping of the Cathedral exterior led by TECH:SQUAD Digital Producer Darius Powell, celebrating the Cathedral as a space of joy. Make sure you turn up early!

BFI Comedy genius  is a nationwide season supported by funds from the National Lottery, led by Film Hub Midlands on behalf of the BFI UK Film Audience Network
