DFF: Mandie Fletcher In Conversation

Mandie Fletcher began her career as an assistant floor manager on BBC sitcoms and made the step up to director with two episodes of Carla Lane’s Butterflies in 1983. She has been much in demand as a director of television comedy ever since, working on classics of British television like Blackadder, Only Fools And Horses, Desmond’s, Absolutely Fabulous and Miranda. Her cinematic debut came in 1994 with the black comedy Deadly Advice starring Jane Horrocks and Jonathan Pryce and she was chosen to direct the big screen version of Absolutely Fabulous in 2016. She is currently working on the family adventure film Patrick, scheduled for release later this year, in which she reunites with Jennifer Saunders.

We are delighted Mandie to Derby Film Festival for an on-stage discussion of her career in film and television.
