Edge-Lit 8 Event Confirms Headline Authors For Exciting Day Of Genre Fiction – taking place on Saturday 13th July at QUAD in Derby
Over the last eight years, Edge-Lit has become an exciting summer highlight in Derby’s literature scene, attracting authors and attendees from all around the UK and beyond.
This year the event runs on the 13th July, once again offering a packed day of panels, readings, workshops and more, and the full line-up of Guests of Honour and Special Guests has now been confirmed.
This year’s US guest is Christopher Golden, a New York Times Bestselling author renowned for books such as Ararat and series like The Hidden Cities and The Shadow Saga. He has also written for recognisable film and TV properties such as Hellboy and Buffy the Vampire Slayer. He’ll be joined by regular co-writing partner Tim Lebbon, whose novel The Silence has just been translated into film for Netflix starring Stanley Tucci, Kieran Shipka and Miranda Otto. He is also the author of The Hunt, The Relics series and the story ‘Pay The Ghost’, also translated to screen starring Nicholas Cage.
The Guest of Honour line-up for the event is completed by Anne Charnock (Arthur C Clarke Award winning author of Dreams Before The Start of Time), Aliette De Bodard (Nebula, Locus and BSFA award winning writer of science-fiction and fantasy), Sarah Lotz (acclaimed horror and thriller author of The Three and The White Road) and Neil Spring (supernatural horror writer of the bestselling The Ghost Hunters, filmed for ITV as Harry Price: Ghost Hunter). They’ll also be joined by Special Guest Stephen Volk, an acclaimed author and scriptwriter famous for TV shows such as Ghostwatch, Afterlife and Midwinter of the Spirit).
Alex Davis, Literature Officer for QUAD, said: “Putting together the Guest of Honour line-up is one of the most exciting parts of running an event like this, and I can’t quite believe how many of my dream authors I’ve been able to land for this year! With such a mix of styles and genres, as well as guests travelling from the US and Europe, I couldn’t be happier with our headline names for Edge-Lit 8.”
Edge-Lit 8 takes place at QUAD, Derby on Saturday 13th July, with doors opening at 9:00am for a 10:00am start, finishing around 8:00pm.
