Peer to Peer: UK/HK Online Festival

QUAD is delighted to be a part of Peer to Peer: UK/HK Online Festival, inspiring arts exchange between the UK and Hong Kong. Running 11 – 14 November, the festival will include online exhibitions of new and existing art, public events and panel discussions. Registration opens 21 October!

And launching the Peer to Peer: UK/HK Online Festival on 11 November will be five brand new commissions from artists based in the UK and Hong Kong – including a new work, co-commissioned by QUAD and by our current International Digital Fellow Danielle Brathwaite-Shirley (nominated by Peter Bonnell). The other four artists include Antonio Roberts, Hetain Patel (QUAD Patron!), Lee Kai Chung and Sharon Lee Cheuk Wun.

Nisa Khan – University of Derby BA Fine Art graduate, Derby resident and recent QUAD Virtual Artist in Residence, has been selected to undertake an online social media residency, hosted by Hong Kong International Photography Festival (nominated by Peter Bonnell): https://www.derbyquad.co.uk/about/news/quadformat-virtual-residencies​​​​​​​

QUAD is pleased to host the Hong Kong artist Hui Wai-Keung as part of Peer to Peer (nominated by Angel Leung of Videotage, Hong Kong). For his online residency digital media artist Wai-Keung will explore the possibilities of selected images being manipulated and fabricated as if seen through the perception and conception of a machine – or more precisely, Artificial Intelligence. http://www.huiwaikeung.org

QUAD Senior Curator Peter Bonnell will be speaking as part of an online panel titled ‘Making (it) Work Online on Saturday 14 November, 11am (UKT/ 7pm HKT) with Jacob Bolton (Peer to Peer: UK/HK), Peter Bonnell (QUAD Derby, UK), Antonio Roberts (Artist, UK), Wu Jiaru (Artist, HK), chaired by Vennes Cheng (Academic and Curator, HK).
