TR25 – Celebrating 25 years of Tomb Raider

QUAD in Derby will be celebrating twenty-five years of Derby girl Lara Croft and the successful Tomb Raider franchise. An unofficial one-day fan event celebrating Tomb Raider in the birthplace of Lara Croft takes place in QUAD in October. The event is a chance to meet the game developers, content creators and the voice of Lara Croft.
 
The day will include:

Raidercast LIVE with Judith Gibbins an in-conversation event with Judith Gibbins, the voice of Lara Croft in Tomb Raider 2 & 3.  

A screening of Lara Croft: Lethal and Loaded (2001), a documentary covering story of Lara Croft, from her creation through to her ascension as a cultural icon. 

Video showcase and Q&A with Steve Of Warr, the Youtuber who’s been taking an in depth look at the Tomb Raider franchise. 

The Making of Tomb Raider book launch. Author Daryl Baxter will be discussing his new book The Making of Tomb Raider with special guests: Heather Stevens (Tomb Raider 1 & 2 Level Designer), Susie Hamilton (Public Relations Manager at CORE Design), Peter Barnard (FMV and Additional Artwork) and a special reading by Judith Gibbins. Additional guests are to be confirmed.
 
Writer Luke Earle, one of the event organisers said “It’s important to remember that Lara Croft, one of the most iconic gaming characters, started life in Derby. This event is a chance to celebrate the Tomb Raider franchise with those who made the games.”
 
TR25 – Celebrating 25 years of Tomb Raider event takes place at QUAD on Saturday 23rd October and runs from 11:00am to 5:00pm. Tickets are £25 and all ticket holders will receive an exclusive £5 discount on The Making of Tomb Raider book at the event.
