We have missed you!

It has been a long time since we saw each other and in that time lots has happened and many of us have been affected by the crisis that we still find ourselves in. We have been working hard whilst the building has been closed to provide you our audience with exciting and inspiring content whilst also trying to find solutions to the challenges we have faced. Together we have done a lot from afar but it is time we reopened our doors and welcomed you back in.

QUAD and FORMAT is pleased to announce that we are working with 6 recent graduates from the University of Derby – 3 from BA Photography and 3 from BA Fine Art – and hosting them through July and into August 2020 as part of our Virtual Residency scheme.

Whooverville Postponed

Sadly, in common with a number of other events that were planned for the autumn, we have come to the decision that Whooverville 12 will have to be postponed. Such is the uncertainty of the situation that we cannot be confident that we would be able to organise an event on the original date of the standard at which we always aim.

This is a decision which we have delayed making for as long as we could, but one which needs to be taken now, so we can focus our energies on putting together a great event for 2021.

Derby Film Festival 2020 takes place 19th - 23rd November later this year and we want you to submit your films! 

The Early Bird deadline for submissions is fast approaching (10th July) so don't miss out! We have categories for Feature Films and Short Films- both genre and non-genre. Selected films play in the main programme with the short films playing as part of a collection of shorts and, a selected few, will screen prior to the feature films.

At the start of this pandemic we made the decision to move Paracinema Film Festival to an August to avoid this COVID-19 fallout. In March, we didn't think that the situation with cinemas continue for as long as it has. As a result, we have made a further decision to move the dates of the festival again.
