Set in a futuristic city at the height of its civilization, the film tells the story of Tima – a beautiful and mysterious female who does not realize that she is a humanoid robot. It is Tima who must discover her true self and, with the help of a young man Kenichi, begin to bridge the gap between humans and humanoid robots of Metropolis. She must also stop Metropolis’s dark dictator Reddoko and save the entire city. This beautifully designed and surprisingly moving 2000s anime adapts one of the earliest manga works by Osamu Tezuka who is known in Japan as The God Of Manga because of his overwhelming influence on the countries anime and manga industries.
