Join us at QUAD where we’re taking a day to delve into the digital world of virtual reality (VR). 

Suitable for ages 8+
Friday 21st February, 11am - 4pm

We’re excited to announce the day will include walk-around VR storyroom Short Storeys by Metro Boulot Dodo (MBD), decision-making sci-fi experiment Playing God by Ben Fredricks, Beat Saber competition hosted by Derby-based VR Play, creative VR experience Tilt Brush and more!

VR Day is a free, drop-in event
However, the Beat Saber experience will cost £4 for a 10-minute session. We highly recommend to book this in advance here due to limited spaces.

Short Storeys
Travel through time and space to meet a long extinct dinosaur. Or be transported back to the trenches of WW1 to hear the stories of the Empire’s forgotten soldiers. In the VR Storyroom anything is possible. Just put on a headset, close the door, and explore.
MBD creates storytelling experiences using a blend of art and technology. From Virtual Reality films to innovative Animation and Projection Mapping, MBD delivers immersive experiences for a whole range of people and places. With a focus on telling powerful and relatable stories, MBD’s aim is to make high-end visitor experiences that engage audiences on a meaningful and emotive level.

Playing God
Playing God is an interactive VR thought experiment that lets you imagine you are the captain of a space station, a space station suddenly presented with a humanitarian crisis. It challenges its audience with a series of scenarios and questions based it’s upon its narrative to explore how the audience would deal with a humanitarian crisis themselves.
Ben Fredricks is a Leicester based Artist filmmaker working with narrative, moving image, VR and installations.

Beat Saber
Beat Saber is a virtual reality rhythm game developed and published by Beat Games. The game features the player slicing blocks representing musical beats with a pair of red and blue lightsabers and takes place in a surrealistic neon-noir environment. Have you got what it takes to get the highest score at VR Day? Book early to get your sabre on! 
VR Play are a Derby-based VR experience company who believe in bringing the virtual world to you.
Using the latest technology and VR gaming experiences come and immerse yourself in another world.
