Here's you chance to get involved with FORMAT19! join in online with MobFORMAT, FORMAT’s mass participation project.
Each week, we’ll be setting a challenge for you to respond to via Instagram. Just take an existing image (a photo, a meme, a stock image), or create a new one, and use your creativity to rework, remake and remix that image or an interpretation along the challenge theme.
This week’s challenge is:
Challenge 3: Move it. Reposition part of, or all of, a photograph to change its look or meaning.
Once you’re happy with your new image, share it with us @formatfestival.mobformat #mobFORMAT19 and each week, we’ll choose 16 pieces to be displayed in an exhibition, FORMAT Remix, during FORMAT19: FOREVER//NOW international photography festival at QUAD for all to see and across our social media channels.
Find out more information about each challenge here and via the MobFORMAT Instagram.
MobFORMAT is part of FORMAT 19’s FORMAT:Remix exhibition.
Everyone across the world is encouraged to submit work!
Venue: Participation Space, QUAD
Dates: 15 March – 14 April
Curated by Digital Participation Curator John Whall and Creative Wellbeing Co-ordinator Jane Hardstaff, FORMAT: Remix is FORMAT19’s participation exhibition inspired by the work of Kensuke Koike and the festival theme FOREVER//NOW. Participants are invited to rework, remake and remix images through a series of online and offline interactions with analogue and digital photographs and are designed to question the permanence of an image and it’s meaning to the owner.
As well as MobFORMAT, the FORMAT Remix exhibition contains works created by families and over 50’s, as part of QUAD’s Participation and Creative Wellbeing programmes.
