Young Creatives


QUAD’s Young Creatives
is a group of young people (aged 14-19) who delve into QUAD’s exhibition themes and create their own artwork with fresh interpretations and visions.
 
It is FREE and open to young people aged 14-19 only. Places are limited and must be booked well in advance. For more information about our forthcoming programme for young people aged 14-19, or to book a place, please contact Jasmine: youngcreatives@derbyquad.co.uk
 

Summer holidays 2017: Film making


Tuesday 22 and Wednesday 23 August, 10.30am - 3.00pm at QUAD
 
Join award-winning film makers Darren and Suzanne from Junction 15 for a two day film making masterclass, to make a creative/abstract film in response to the A.I/robot themed exhibition in QUAD Gallery.

Autumn term 2017: Zines and printing


Saturdays 16 and 30 September, 10.30am - 1.00pm at QUAD
Saturday 21 October, c.10.30am - 3.00pm tbc, at Dizzy Ink Studios, Nottingham
Saturday 4 November, times tbc, trip to Zine Fest, Nottingham
 
Join Craig and Benjamin from Dizzy Ink to immerse yourselves in all things zine related. You’ll have chance to try out print and zine techniques at QUAD, get inspired at Zine Fest in Nottingham, and produce your own zine at their studios in Nottingham.

Participants will be required to bring their own lunch for the Nottingham visits. Transport to Nottingham will be organised from Derby and paid for by QUAD.
 
 

Autumn term 2017: More ceramics!


Saturday 11 November, 10.30am – 1.00pm at QUAD
Saturday 2 December, c.10.30am – 3.00pm tbc, at Tracy Meek’s studio, Nottingham

Tracy Meek is an artist and ceramicist, and uses her quirky illustrations to inspire even quirkier character sculptures. Join Tracy to design and make your own ceramic pins here at QUAD and at Tracy’s studio in Nottingham.

Spring term 2017: Exhibition visit and photography workshop in London

Join the awesome, award-winning Olly Lang for a photographic journey in London, where you’ll be inspired by a major photographic exhibition/gallery, and have time to take your own photos with Olly’s expert advice
