Part of UK Dracula Film Festival 2024
As Bram Stoker’s nightmarish vampire fiend became a cultural phenomenon, it was inevitable that Dracula would attract jokers and parodists. A cape, a slick of hair gel, and a pair of novelty fangs were seemingly sufficient for the world’s comedians to ‘take the hickey’ and reduce the Count to a figure of fun.
Darrell Buxton, editor of ‘We Belong Dead‘ magazine, presents a crypt-full of comedy with his visit to the vampiric TV and movie archives, taking a laughter-filled look at Dracula’s portrayals in sketch shows, light entertainment, cartoons, and cinema spoofs, featuring everyone from Leslie Nielsen to Betty Boop…
Tickets: £6 (standard), £5 (concessions)
