“It manages to pull off natural, easygoing laughs without the cringe that often seeps into British comedies” – The Guardian
Two schoolfriends in a dead-end town in the East of England join forces with a green-fingered grandad to fence a shed of weed that the old man has accidentally grown on his allotment. Together they form an alliance of age and youth, an unlikely partnership of the forgetful and the forgotten.
The badlands of East Anglia. A young man (Jayce) is released from prison after serving time for a crime he didn’t commit. Broke and looking for answers, he goes into business with an elderly neighbour (Kev) to fence a shed of weed the old man has grown on his allotment. When their activities attract the unwanted attention of some local dimwit hoodlums, Jayce and Kev are forced to confront their past mistakes, discovering a mutual respect they never thought possible.
The 6:00pm screening on Sunday 20 July will include a Q+A with director Richard Bracewell and actors (and Derby natives) Hugo Carter and Everett Gaskin plus co-star Ramy Ben Fredj.
