QUAD is delighted to share that David Beedall, selected from the graduate Fine Art student at the University of Derby, will be doing a residency with us between 7-13 October 2024. David’s Instagram takeover on @quad_gallery will be between 7-11 October 2024.

Artist Statement 

My work is an ongoing exploration of line and space with a minimalist theme and an interest in the natural environment. Taking two and three-dimensional geometric/deviant shapes, natural and man-made forms to develop and present ideas using a variety of media.

Artist Bio

Originally from Chesterfield, now residing and working in the village of Whitwell, near Worksop. David has been drawing since he was a small boy, carrying on throughout his life with evening classes, gaining a Foundation for a degree at Chesterfield College, followed by a First Class (Honours) Fine Arts degree at the University of Derby.

Currently drawing with fine line pens, David has used varied materials including paint, video, concrete, plaster and wood. He is not averse to working collaboratively with other artists and recently met up with Chesterfield Creatives at West Studios.

As a result of a Purchase Award, courtesy of ArtsDerbyshire charity, David has work in the University of Derby collection and has exhibited locally at Cupola and Fronteer galleries, Sheffield, with works currently showing in the Harley Gallery, Worksop, and West Studios, Chesterfield.
