“A film of deceptive simplicity, observing the tiny details of a routine existence with such clarity, soulfulness and empathy that they build a cumulative emotional power almost without you noticing” – Hollywood Reporter
Perfect Days is the critically acclaimed latest from renowned writer-director Wim Wenders (Paris, Texas, Wings of Desire) – a luminous reflection on the beauty found in everyday life. Winner of the Best Actor award at the 2023 Cannes Film Festival, Koji Yakusho stars as Hirayama, a contemplative middle-aged man who lives a life of modesty and serenity, spending his days balancing his job as a dutiful caretaker of Tokyo’s numerous public toilets with his passion for music, literature and photography. As we join him on his structured daily routine, a series of unexpected encounters gradually begin to reveal a hidden past that lies behind his otherwise content and harmonious life.
This screening is brought to you in partnership with Rethink Mental Illness who will receive 50% of the profits from the event as part of go green for mental health awareness week. The event will also host a charity raffle and donation opportunities.
