Research Cafe: Humans and Nature with Dr Andew Fergus Wilson

Following on from October’s vibrant discussion of the complexities of our consumer lifestyles and the problems caused by our consumption November’s theme will be nature and how we humans connect with it. This will be a varied session that considers what we mean by nature and if how we think of nature is part of the problem. Is it something we coexist with, something that exists for us, or something that we are trapped in a harmful and dependent relationship with? This month’s session will be led by Dr Andrew Fergus Wilson, a senior lecturer in Sociology and Criminology at the University of Derby’.

The Research Café gives a home to people who would like to take part in an ‘in-person’ space discussion of the latest ideas on a range of subjects. Each month an expert from the social sciences will host a discussion of their latest research or current debates in their field of expertise. We hope you will come with curiosity and questions!

Free entry but booking required.
