Set amidst the burgeoning Seattle Grunge scene of the early Nineties, Singles follows a group of twentysomethings as they try to find love and try to come to terms with their passage into adulthood. The film follows a group of friends who live in the same apartment building and hang out at the same coffee shop.  The central couple is Steve (Campbell Scott) and Linda (Kyra Sedgwick), a pair who meet at an Alice In Chains concert and eventually fall in love. Alongside this tumultuous relationship is their friendship with Janet (Bridget Fonda), who is trying to win the affection of grunge-rocker Cliff (Matt Dillon).

It’s cameo crazy with cameos from Tim Burton, Tom Skerritt, Peter Horton and writer/director Cameron Crowe. Also keep an eye out on your grunge bingo card for cameos from Sub Pop’s Bruce Pavitt, Soundgarden’s Chris Cornell, Smithereen’s Pat DiNizio, Tad from Tad plus Eddie Vedder, Jeff Ament and Stone Gossard from Pearl Jam who play Dillion’s band, Citizen Dick.
