V.O2 GRAVITY is a major new interactive audio and video featuring stunning visuals, projection mapping, surround sound and anaglyph 3D multi screen environments. The exhibition explores the properties of gravity through sound, moving image and Indian music via artworks and an installation that can be controlled by the public.
V.O2 GRAVITY will be a giant 3D A/V immersive and participatory environment masterminded by Digital Artists Aron Brown, Oli Melia and Rob Newman, who have been working alongside chromatic architect Aaron Bradbury. The exhibition includes newly commissioned music created by leading artists from Mumbai; Tabla Player and Dubstep composer Mayur Narvekar and Music Producer Pritesh Varia from Bandish Projekt with leading classical Tabla Player and composer Hiren Chate.
The exhibition also features more artworks from digital and 3D artists including; Steroscopic Photography, Artists iPads Apps, Bass relief, Anaglyph 3D films and Lenticulars. A 3D printer in action in the Gallery during V.O2 GRAVITY alongside a virtual world created by digital artist Darius Powell, viewable through an Oculus Rift VR headset.
Throughout QUAD’s Extra Gallery Spaces the subject of 3D will be explored through contemporary art from international artists using age-old techniques such as autostereograms, stereograms, lenticular printins and anaglyph 3D. Embracing these classic techniques which offer the illusion of three-dimensional depth, visitors are invited to explore a nostalgic journey through the recent history of 3D alongside anaglyph 3D artworks by Ravi Purohit, Thomas Hämén, Chloe Humenko.
There will be fun interactive DIY 3D illusions and activities for all ages to explore, available daily in QUAD’s family friendly Resource Area.
V.O2 GRAVITY is part of a fun audio-visual interactive 3D season in QUAD, an exploration through art, film, interactive installation and participatory digital artworks with workshops, talks, schools programme, participation, films, live performance and events.
