Break out the tissues because QUAD is getting in touch with its feelings!
Across the country, cinemas are taking part in the BFI Melodrama season Too Much! as it showcases melodrama in all its varied and unique guises.
Here in Derby, we are taking a national and international approach for our season Too Much! For These Isles! Initially we are showing a range of the best in British melodrama before heading out into the world for melodrama from a range of international places.
From October each Sunday at 1pm we will show a different melodrama film with an introduction and a post screening discussion. From chance meetings on railway station platforms to bloody haircuts in London, from Kabuki theatres in Japan to love triangles in the fashion industry in 70s West Germany, join us as we get all teary!
Too Much! For These Isles! has been made possible with support from Film Hub Midlands through funds from the National Lottery. Film Hub Midlands support people to watch, show, and make films in the Midlands.
