We would like to invite you to join us for Mindful Crafts, our friendly and relaxed craft activity group that provides a wonderfully calm and supportive space in which we can try fun new creative activities and support our mental wellbeing along the way.

Delivered in partnership with Derbyshire Mind, Mindful Crafts is a long-running and much-loved group. Book your free place on your preferred session early to avoid disappointment. Mindful Crafts is part of Derbyshire Mind’s Enjoying Derbyshire programme of activities all designed to support and improve mental wellbeing by designing groups that are enjoyable, boost mood, provide opportunities for connection, and reduce isolation. Details about Mindful Crafts: 

Time: 1 – 3pm, every other Monday.

Location: QUAD, The Market Place, Derby City Centre, DE1 3AS.

Mindful Crafts is held in our ground floor Participation Room, which is on the left just opposite the reception desk.

People leading the Group: 
When you attend a Mindful Crafts session you will likely meet our group leader Mandy (she/her), our assistant leader Zoey (she/her), and our Peer Support Volunteer Poppy (she/her). Please do come on in and say hi, we are pleased to meet you.

What Happens at Mindful Crafts: 
Attendees will typically sit at the large table together as a group. The session will start and finish with a relaxing mindful activity to settle you into the space. For the main part of the session you will be invited to take part in trying out a new craft activity at your own pace. There is tea and coffee for you to help yourself to during the session if you would like. If at any point you need help you can speak to one of our group leaders Mandy or Zoey, or our Peer Supporter Poppy.

Who is this group for?: 
All of Derbyshire Mind’s Enjoying Derbyshire activities and groups, including Mindful Crafts, are specially designed for people over 18 who may be experiencing a mild to moderate mental health condition such as depression or anxiety, or are experiencing low mood and isolation. You are welcome to bring a friend or someone to support you individually.

Accessibility: QUAD and the Mindful Crafts room is fully accessible for everyone. There are wide entry doorways, an automatic front door, accessible ground floor toilets, lifts to all upper floors, integrated Loop system, and support on hand should you need it. The Participation Room provides us a private space just for the Mindful Crafts group, separate from the public using the rest of QUAD.

Getting Here: There are many bus routes that serve Derby city centre. Most stop at Derby’s bus terminal that is only a short 4 minute walk from QUAD along Morledge in front of the Council House.   If you are driving to Derby by car, you might choose to park in one of the nearby car parks including the Assembly Rooms car park next to the Market Place or Park Safe car park on Bold Lane.
