QUAD Announces New Chair of its Board of Directors
QUAD in Derby has announced a new Chair of its Board of Directors. Following more than two years, Professor Judith Lamie, Pro Vice-Chancellor External Affairs at The University of Derby, will be stepping down and will be replaced by new Chair, Brian Walsh, OBE.
Professor Judith Lamie said “It’s been a pleasure to have been part of the QUAD Board since my arrival in Derby and a privilege to have been its Chair. From the internationally renowned FORMAT festival, to the education programme that delivers hundreds of workshops and activities for people across the community, QUAD is at the heart of the City’s cultural offer and will be instrumental is enabling Derby to drive forward its new Culture Strategy. The QUAD team, under the leadership of their CEO, Adam are passionate about their work and have been an inspiration to know. They have a terrific new Chair in Brian and I am sure they will continue to go from strength to strength.”
Brian Walsh, OBE, said “I am delighted to taking over from Judith Lamie as Chair of QUAD. As a customer of QUAD since it opened eleven years ago, I have appreciated and benefited from the excellent choice of film, exhibitions, galleries, courses and special events all hosted by a progressive and forward-thinking creative arts centre in the Cathedral Quarter of Derby. Supported by a progressive and forward-thinking Board, we will continue to encourage all residents of Derby and beyond to visit QUAD and experience first-hand the inclusive and welcoming atmosphere as well as having a good time.”
Adam Buss, CEO, QUAD said “‘Judith has played a huge role in supporting and guiding QUAD over the last 3 years. We will all miss Judith’s input and positive approach to partnerships but are also very excited by the skills and knowledge that Brian will bring to the organisation. Brian has been a committed voice in the third sector for many years and understands the challenges and opportunities that we will encounter.”
